Polytechnic barometer

A interesting and distinctive bulb cistern barometer. The paper register plates have the royal coat of arms and the prince of wales feathers.The glazed case is made of oak and everything is symmetrical exept for the tube. Fahrenheit ans centigrade thermometers are fitted below admiral fitzroy’s special remarks for rising and falling conditions. The two ivory keys, below the circular dial, control pointers each side of the tube to which are attached hands that indicate the weather conditions listed round the dial. This instrument is in a very fine condition and 105cm tall, diam. Dial 28cm.
