Cupboard style Medicine chest, C 1860

An english Cupboard style mahogany medicine chest with sunken brass handles. C 1860. The double-fronted Cupboard enclosing bottle compartment and two drawers. The bottles are fitted in galleries both in central part and in the doors. In the back compartment concealed by a sliding panel for holding the “poison bottles”. This panel can be secured by a locker in the hinge on the front. Two drawers in the base for store severall items as there is; a pestle and mortar, bottles and a set of scales. Most of the bottles have a label from; dispensing chemists / R. Watts & Son MPS / Rainham / Kent  Measurements 25 cm wide, 20 deep and 30 cm high.
