An Iris Germanica model shaped by Robert Brendel.
Robert Brendel (1821-1898) started on the middle of the 19th century a factory for botanical flower shaped in Breslau. This flower model is very detailed and has many parts which can be taken off the flowerstem. The retailer was Jac Swilders / hulpmiddelen voor school / Amsterdam.
The label contains the following text:
”Nr 78 / Iris germanica L. III L flos. / Duitse Iris / Schwertlilie / Iride / Iris d’Allemagne / Iridaceae / vergr 2 fach.
The importer was ‘Dr. Schlüter & Dr. Mas Halle/Saale ( naturwissenschaftliche Lehrmittel-Anstalt ).’
