Silver and ebony trocars

Set of silver and ebony trocars with cannulas and covers of the 19th century. The ebony handles are shaped eight surfaces sharpened to a point.
The trocar served as a tool for extracting accumulated bodily fluids until the development of diuretics. It involved inserting the trocar, along with its accompanying cannula pipe, into either the chest or abdomen. Subsequently, the trocar was withdrawn, allowing the fluid to be drained through the cannula.
