2 stokes stethoscopes c 1860

Two stokes type monaural stethoscope circa 1860. It consist of two parts. One is made of eboy and the other one from mahogany. 17 cm high and the ear piece has a diameter of 5,5cm. William stokes (1804-1878), of dublin, who was an early follower of laennec, is the inventor. Stokes is noted for his studies on diseases of the chest and the heart and aorta.
