This specific apparatus consists of a small brass bell, so mounted on the end of a flexible reed that it’s clapper will strike the bell when the sphere is shaken (but transmitts no sound wave in a vacuum). Mouthblown glass sphere on a brass mounting with stop-cock, fits on an pump plate. 33cm high.
