Bow-frame amputation saw, 18th century

A large 18th century bow-frame amputation saw of wrought iron and ebony. Decorated with a sphere in the metal holder and sharply bowed edges. The blade is attached by two rivets and can be tensioned by a screw of which the handle is decorated with three circles.
