During the 18th and 19th c. There was no chemist that had not a corkpress in his shop. Mostly shaped in a acanthus-leaf or animalform. There use was to ‘press’ the cork and make it fit, airtight, into the bottle-neck. Our brass corkpress is shaped like a reptile veran signed cotoflex and is 29 cm long
