A 19th century lenticular which was used to scrape away adherent scalp from the bone of the cranium when performing craniotomies (making surgical holes in the head).
These instruments also doubled up as an elevator to pull up the bone from around depressed skull fractures. The ebony handle is in cross hatched ebony and tapers to a point. Length 17,5 cm
