Louis thomas Auzoux was a french medical doctor who added papier-mache to the modelling process of anatomical models. Auzoux set up a workshop in his home town of saint aubin d’ecrosville in 1827. His newly invented moulding techniques allowed him to re-produce his models. One of these works is the tongmodel, modelled from papier-mache and plaster. Polychrome handpainted with egg-tempura and a finish with russian fishlaquer. Not signed and Circa 1930.
