This simple microscope is nothing more then a convex lens, like a magnifying glass, on a wooden standard with a brass pin. It was mostly used by means of recreation and curiosity. They early 19thc. ‘scientists’ loved to study small items like ‘flea’s and other insects. The little instrument only 8.5cm height.
