Bronze Mortar and Pestle, 17th C.

A French bronze mortar and pestle reflect a form common to the early 17th century. The mortar was formed with a flared rim that displays raised, beaded details, and slightly extended base. The body displays raised vertical, ridged bars alternating with 2 differnt mascarons, surrounding the piece. The Petzel is original to the Mortar. Diameter 11,5 cm & 7,5 cm high.
