Medische Thermometer, Circa 1850

A rare antique medical thermometer of the type used by James Currie to read while standing behind the patient. This  clinical thermometer is backed by a semicircular carved  sleeve on which are marked the gradations of the Celcius scale. It is housed in a hinged leather fitted case which is silk lined and closes with one brass catches. In mint condition and 19 cm long.
