English phantograph, signed by w & s jones, holborn london, circa 1840. Made of brass, the two outside legs are each 76 cm long; one is marked with number b has scales with the ratio of 1:12 to 11:12. The shorter arm with number d has the same scale. There are 6 ivory wheels, 1 fixed and 2 adjustable holders for tracer pen (not present), pencil holder and heavy lead weight. This attractive large phantograph with original mahogany wooden box is in good condition.
