Spooner ‘Storm King’ Walnut Stick Barometer

“Storm King” Walnut Stick Barometer, manufactured by E.C. Spooner, Boston, c. 1850. The barometer is telescope-formed and made of walnut and ebonized walnut. The crest is curved molded and above a split register centeered with the barometer with a printed paper scale on the left inscribed ‘The Standard’ at the top and ‘The Storm King Barometer/Warranted Correct/Manufactured/and Sold by/[E].C. Spooner Boston’ at the bottom. On the right an engraved silvered metal thermometer.
